 Events and live performance

HistoryNeedsYou have a highly skilled team of actors and historical interpreters to perform for you. From creating and performing in large events, to providing one or two performers, HistoryNeedsYou always provide memorable and highly professional performances across all periods of history, from high status to low.

We can:
  • create spectacular events involving a large cast of actors and musicians who improvise and interact with the public in character. Examples include: recreating the visit of Elizabeth I to Cambridge, including Evensong in King's College Chapel; recreating the visit of James I to Hoghton Tower, including a grand banquet
  • design family activity days with engaging historical activities for children, populated with historical characters. Examples include: Ravenous Romans, hands-on Roman cookery for Ipswich Museum, and Henley's Horrible History for the River and Rowing Museum, Henley
  • perform as historic characters to populate your historic property or exhibition. Examples include researching, scripting and portraying: Betty Wilson and Jeremiah Grice for the Piece Hall, Halifax; Lady Evelyn Blacklock, Geoffrey Wolryche-Whitmore and a WWI recruiting sargeant for the National Trust, Dudmaston Hall, and Prince Albert, Lord Exeter and Mrs Clarissa Miles for the SS Great Britain, Bristol
  • create and perform interactive theatre, involving the audience in the story. Examples include: The Valentine's Day Bewitchment, an interactive witch trial featuring Matthew Hopkins, the Witchfinder General, for the Museum of Cambridge
